All dogs must have up to date vaccinations and flea protection, been wormed and bathed. Proof of vaccination must be shown to the carer prior to the stay.

A mutually convenient time for drop off and collection of the dog/s must be agreed between the owner and the carer.

The Emergency Contact must be aware of their role, duties and responsibilities and be available for the duration of the booking.

The owner or Emergency Contact is responsible for payment of any veterinary fees incurred and the owner is responsible for reimbursing any costs incurred by the carer if any damage, other than reasonable wear and tear, is caused to the carer’s home or possessions by the dog/s

Carers will make every effort to provide high standards of care but Dogs at Spencerfield cannot be held liable for loss, injury or death unless negligence is shown. The owner agrees to let Dogs at Spencerfield know of any changes to their dog/s details.

If your dog/s escapes from the premises (assuming no negligence is found on the part of the carer) any liability for the dog/s actions remains the responsibility of the owner.

The owner gives permission to board their dog/s together with the carer’s dog/s. The owners and carers dogs must have had an introductory meeting.

If, while the owner is away, the carer cannot continue to board the dog/s through problems with the dog/s sickness or behaviour, then Dogs at Spencerfield will try to find another carer if possible and advise the owner and Emergency Contact accordingly. If Dogs at Spencerfield is unable to find another carer and the Emergency Contact is unable or unwilling to take the dog/s, then Dogs at Spencerfield will, in consultation with the Emergency Contact, find suitable kennels or veterinary accommodation for the dog/s. The owner will be responsible for the associated costs.

If the dog has shown aggression or bites during its board the Emergency Contact will be asked to remove the dog. If the Emergency Contact cannot take the dog then the dog will be removed to a kennel. There will be no refund of boarding fees that have been paid and the owner will be responsible for all kennel fees.

If the dog has not had the kennel cough vaccination and it needs to be removed to a kennel then the owner gives permission for the dog to have the vaccination at their cost.

Dogs at Spencerfield are unable to accept dogs that have shown aggression towards other dogs and/or people or subject to the terms of the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991. No dogs registered under this act will be accepted for home boarding.

Dogs at Spencerfield will accept bookings from unspayed bitches. However if the owner believes the dog may come into season during their home boarding time period then the owner must inform Dogs at Spencerfield. A bitch in season must not be boarded with a resident dog.

Dogs at Spencerfield will accept entire males at their discretion and providing they do not show aggression towards other dogs or people.

Inoculations

*Certificates must be produced a copy will be taken for our records.

*All dogs must be fully inoculated against Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parvovirus and Parainfluenza, and must have had a booster injection within the previous twelve months.

*Canine Infectious Bronchitis (Kennel Cough)

*We are not responsible if a dog contracts Kennel Cough as this is an airborne virus. If you decide to have this inoculation, it must be done at least three weeks prior to arriving as the inoculation involves a live virus

*All dogs need to have an up to date treatment for fleas and worms

The owner is responsible for supplying enough food for the duration of the dog/s stay and food and water bowls, bedding, lead, toys etc. that will help the dog/s to settle into the new environment. If insufficient food is supplied the owner is responsible for reimbursing the carer for costs incurred in the purchase of more food.

All dogs staying with Dogs at Spencerfield must wear a collar with an identity tag showing the name and address of the owner (a telephone number is optional but advisable). This is a legal requirement. The dog will also wear a Dogs at Spencerfield identity tag on its collar during its stay.

All equipment is provided by the owner, and it is their responsibility to ensure that it is of suitable quality and fit for purpose.

The owner agrees if after 10 days of the booked return date the owner has not collected the dog/s and Dogs at Spencerfield had made every attempt to contact the owner or Emergency Contact without success then the dog/s would be put up for re-homing.

If the owner collects the dog/s before the confirmed end date of the board they will not be entitled to a refund.

Dogs at Spencerfield reserve the right at their discretion to cancel the booking and refund the fee without any liability to Dogs at Spencerfield.

The booking fee is non-refundable and non-transferable, if requested

The dog/s must be used to living in a home environment and must not exhibit territorial marking and be housetrained.

A booking will only be regarded as confirmed either in writting ot when a signed booking form is signed (which should be no later than 5 days after the meeting with the carer). The owners agree to provide full, accurate and detailed information on the Booking Form about the dog/s. During the owners continued use of Dogs at Spencerfield the owner agrees to keep us informed of any changes to the dog/s Booking Form. Failure on the owners part to disclose any matter which in Dogs at Spencerfield view may render the dog/s unsuitable for home boarding with the carer will amount to a breach of conditions and termination of the dog/s stay without refund.

Any conditions requiring the administration of medicine to the dog/s must be fully discussed with the carer. Dosage rates etc. should be given to the carer in writing before their stay. Any changes in medication required must be communicated to the carer in a timely manner.

Dogs at Spencerfield will attempt to contact the owner or Emergency Contact in an emergency and if necessary the Emergency Contact is expected to make any decisions with regard to the dog/s. If the owner or Emergency Contact cannot be contacted, Dogs at Spencerfield reserves the right to act on the owner’s behalf, seeking and following advice from a veterinary surgeon.

If the customer has a rescue dog the dog must have been resident with the owner for a minimum of six months.

You agree that should you return from holiday early and decide to collect your dog before the end of your booking, you will not be entitled to any refund of any payment.

You agree that if you cancel giving less than two weeks notice the total fee is due.

You agree that if you cancel your booking giving between 2 and 4 weeks notice you will lose 50% of the amount due.

You agree that if you cancel your booking giving more than 4 weeks notice you will receive a full refund.
